Exporting Records
The EXPORT function permits export of structure, reaction and citation data in a variety of file formats. The available pre-defined export settings depend on the record "context" - e.g. substance, reaction or citation. It is also possible to create individual export settings for local installations.
Pre-Defined Export Settings
- Display search hitset.
- Click on EXPORT HITS.
- Click on type of data and file format to export.
- Click on START.
- Type your disk drive and filename.
- Click on SAVE.
Custom Export Settings
Use the Export Wizard to create custom export settings.
- Click on EXPORT.
- Click on SETTINGS....
- Click on NEW to create a setting from scratch or COPY to modify an existing setting. the Export wizard window opens.

- Click on START.
- In Define Export Format window, select Program/File Format:

Table = Each hit exported as one line
List = 1 line for each fact. - Select Export Target.
- Select structure format for Reaction and Structure records:
Bitmap Structure Format -- Required for MS Word and Excel
Molfile Structure Format -- Always used for SD and RD file exports
Structures can not be included in ASCII or Literature Management System export. - Click on NEXT.
- In Define Content window, include structrure images if desired.
- Click on SELECT FACTS TO VIEW.
- Apply an existing VIEW, create a new VIEW, or edit an exisitng VIEW. (See below)
- Enter a descriptive title in the COMMENT box. This title will now appear in the pre-defined export settings EXPORT list.
- Click on FINISH.
- Click on SAVE to save the export setting as an .exs file.
Custom Export View
To define a new EXPORT VIEW:
- Click on NEW.
- Display data fields on the left side of the SELECT FIELDS window.
- Highlight desired fields.
- Click on
to transfer desire fields to the right side of the SELECT FIELDS window.
- Click OK to accept desired fields.
- Type a file name and click on SAVE to save the new export view as a .udf file.
