SciFinder Mobile
The SciFinder Mobile platform allows researchers to use web-enabled smartphones to access SciFinder databases.
- You must be a registered SciFinder Web user. See SciFinder Web for registration details.
- There is no app to download or IP address restriction.
- Click here for supported platforms.
- Use of SciFinder Mobile does not count against UW-Madison's concurrent user seat limit.

What about iPad users? CAS expects iPad, iTouch and computer users to use the licensed version of SciFinder Web. We have a report of one user accessing SciFinder Mobile on her iPad using Opera Mini (an iPhone app that will run on an iPad).
Search Features
Many familiar search features are available:
- Explore by Research Topic
- Explore by Substance ID
- Explore by Author Name
- Explore by Company Name
- Browse search results
- Review the latest answers from Keep Me Posted Alerts previously set up in SciFinder Web
- Review saved answer sets from searches previously saved in SciFinder Web
SciFinder Mobile does not allow you to save references, email results, or link out to full text articles. Since structure drawing requires Java, structure searching is not available.
Always remember to SIGN OUT when you conclude your session.
